Word 2010 - Chapters 1 and 2

I apologize for this post being late.

This week we will be starting on the section for Word.  I will probably post a couple chapters (or more) each week. It is ok if you get a little behind, but not too far.

Go through the PowerPoint for each chapter (below) first.  Then start the chapter.  This will give you a good visual overview of the chapter.

  • Word Chapter 1 - complete pages WD-3 through WD-12
    • Complete the Challenge yourself 2 on pg WD-19

  • Word Chapter 2 - Complete pages WD-23 through WD-41
    • Complete the Challenge yourself 1 on pages WD-47 and 48

August 19th - Getting Started

GETTING STARTED

First of all, if you don't have access to Microsoft Office 2010, please me at mindy.holder@sccc.edu ASAP.  Most of the computer labs on campus have this software and you are free to work in AA109 or AA113 at anytime.
The text we are using for this course is:  Microsoft Office 2010, A Skills Approach, by Manning and Swinson. McGraw Hill Publishing. ISBN:  978 0 07 351647 9

This blog is where you will find all your assignments for the course.  Please check back every Friday for new assignments and revisions to previous posts.

If you have questions regarding any assignment, please email me at mindy.holder@sccc.edu or stop by my office in the business division.

To get started, you need to download the student data files (unless your text has a CD in the back of the book).  These files can be downloaded by:
Let me know if you have problems obtaining your data files.

    INTRODUCTION TO OFFICE 2010

I will include the PowerPoint for each Unit as an introduction to the Unit.  I highly recommend you go through these PowerPoints to get a quick visual overview of what you will be learning.

PowerPoint for Introduction to Office 2010

This text is laid out very simple.  It has short description and then it has you do a few things.
I would like you to use this chapter as a "get to know the textbook" chapter.
Go slow.  Notice all the different parts:  from the perspective of, tips and tricks, tell me more, and try this.
The chapter ends on page OF-22.
There is nothing to turn in.  However, please email me (mindy.holder@sccc.edu)  when you have completed this overview.

The next thing we will do in the section on Word 2010.
