Word 2010 Assignments

In order to complete the assignments for this course, you will need to download the student data files that go with the textbook.  Complete the following steps to download these files to your computer:

1. Click on the following link - https://www.dropbox.com/sh/3h79aqzlm6ux8sz/_wAFwcMzwc
2. This will take you to a screen where you can download the data files.  Click on the DOWNLOAD button in the upper right corner.
3. Now Select ‘Download as .zip’
4. This will place a file in your computer’s ‘download’ folder called ‘9780538747158_Data.zip’
5. Open the Windows Start button in the bottom left corner of your computer window.  Now click on Computer in the right column.
6. This opens the folders on your computer. Look on the left hand side for ‘Downloads’.  Now click on it.
7. Look for the file ‘9780538747158_Data.zip’
8. When you find it, right click on it and then select ‘Extract All’.  This will take the zipped/compressed file you just downloaded and make them available now for you to use for your assignments in the textbook.

Unit A - Creating Documents

Read and Complete all the activities on pages Word 1 - 17.

• Complete the Skills Review on pages Word 19 - 20.  
• Using your campus email, send this document to me as an attachment at mindy.holder@sccc.edu.  Put 'Word Unit A' in the Subject line of the email.

Unit B - Editing Documents

Once you have completed the assignments for Unit A, you are ready to move on to Unit B:

• Complete the chapter, pages Word 26 - 41.
• Complete Independent Challenge 1, pg. Word 45.  Don't do the Advanced Challenge portion. (email to me when finished)
• Complete Independent Challenge 2, pg. Word 46.  (email this challenge to me when finished)

Unit C - Formatting Text and Paragraphs

• Complete the activities on pages Word 50 - 67.
• Complete the Skills Review on pages Word 69 - 71. 
• Complete Independent Challenge #2 on page Word 73, including the Advanced portion.  (email this challenge to me when complete)

Unit D - Formatting Documents 

•  Complete the activities on pages Word 78 - 95.
  
• Complete the Skills Review on pages Word 97 - 99. 
• Complete Independent Challenge #3 on pages Word 102 - 103.  (email this challenge to me when complete)

WORD QUIZ

When you have complete the required assignments for Word Units A, B, C, and D, send me an email stating that you are ready for the Word Quiz and I will email it to you.

• It will be a hands-on problem like you have done at the end of each unit. 
• You can use your books.
